The 3 Stages of a Disney parks day (and a few tips on when to book your trip).

Syd and I are Disney aficionados. We didn’t ever go as kids, so maybe we’re compensating and making up for lost time. We have Annual Passes now. I’ll have a whole other blog on tips but I’ll save that for another day.

We were talking about annual passes. Our friends having babies are all skipping a year or so. I said maybe we should skip a year. Syd said “We won’t ever skip a year. We’ll have passes until we’re dead!” Think of that last sentence said in a sexy British accent. I died. And said “Ok, babe.” Laughing.

The best time to book a trip really is January (after the new years’ rush) through March before the kiddos get out for spring break. Trust me you don’t want to be behind waddling rude pushy people who don’t want to share the road with perfect strangers. Go when the parks aren’t as full when you can! March is great because of the Food and Wine Festival. It’s often not yet the monstrosity it becomes in the summer months. Honestly in the beginning of the year, you can do like 3-4 times as many things in the parks because it’s less crowded!

*Insiders tip If you have an annual pass you can save up to 25% off on rooms at this time too! Dapper day in April is another way to get gussied up in the parks for group rates too. More on that in another blog. If you are interested in Dapper Day festivities (This year it’s the 13th and 14th) make sure to go here and get on their e-mail list. They have group rates for rooms too! Get on it now. http://dapperday.com/spring-2019-disneyland-ca

When You’re fresh and ready to go you feel that child like rush of excitement and sense of fun. You have boundless energy. You feel like anything could happen and like you got sleep the night before. Your eyeliner is in place, and/or your shoelaces are done up tight. You look good.

In line here for Pirates of the Caribbean

2. Having Fun

Riding rides, eating delicious food, having a grand old time. Sure your feet start to hurt, you wonder if everyone is always this rude or just on vacation, and maybe your blood sugar is getting low, but ultimately you are having a good time! It’s really hard not to if you are with the right people.

Here we are on Dapper day 2017. We are DONE!

3. Dead

This third stage comes quickly and with very little warning. One member of your party will act like the canary in the mine and be like I’m running on fumes guys. I’m getting cranky, no, seriously, I want to go home! Know the warning signs! At the very least get them out of the crowds! Either start towards the trams or sit them in front of the fire at the Grand Californian with a hot tea and a snack (and wait for others to be done if you carpool), or just refuel for the journey home if you aren’t staying locally.

Would you agree with these stages? What’s your favorite part of the day? I think walking in is the most exciting as well as the fireworks.
